Our Story

Our son Leo (MiniMus) was in our arms only for two days, but our story begun long before that. He was present in our lives since we decided to peruse an IVF treatment over a year before he was born. It's been an emotional and heartbreaking journey, but also a very happy one.
We were faced with some difficult decisions. At 16 weeks gestation we learned that there is 99% probability that our baby has Edwards syndrome. We never considered termination and we continued with the pregnancy against the odds and any professional advice. We followed our hearts and have done everything what was possible (and impossible) to give our son the best chance. We don't have any regrets. Being able to meet Leo, hold him, talk to him, comfort him, feel an overwhelming and unconditional love, that we even didn't know we are capable of, was the most beautiful experience in our lives.
Following an advice from Karen, our lovely midwife, MamaMus captured our memories in a scrapbook (we call it 'MiniMus Book').  It's been a therapeutic exercise for MamaMus and we believe it will be of a great comfort to us in years to come.
We want to share it with you hoping that it may be of some comfort to those who are on a similar journey. You are not alone.

In celebration of Leo's life we are holding a small memorial ceremony to share our story with family and friends
